This week, I was thrilled to receive a special delivery of book mail—all from the incredible Harper Collins UK!
It's always exciting to get my hands on new reads, and these editions are stunning.
One Minute Away by Mark Watson:
Damir is a food delivery rider. He zooms through the city like a ghost, delivering convenience to people who don’t even see him. Until one summer night, when an order of edamame beans and a slightly awkward doorstep meeting with Decca change everything.
This book is a quiet love letter to the people who keep our cities running – the ones we rarely notice. It’s about connection, vulnerability, the fragility of love, and the importance of friendship when life feels like it’s moving too fast.
This is a book about being seen, and how that can be life-changing.
🍜 Think: sushi, split dumplings, city chaos, quiet longing, and one hell of a meet-cute.
Special thank you to Rachel Quin Marketing and her work with Harper Collins UK for sending me this book!

The Cheese Cure: How Comté and Camembert Fed My Soul by Michael Finnerty:
The Cheese Cure by Michael Finnerty is the book I didn’t know I needed!
Equal parts memoir, sensory exploration, and ode to cheese (yes, cheese), this book is a warm, witty reflection on how one man found healing in the most unexpected of places – behind the counter at Borough Market.
Michael, a successful journalist, feels life has gone a bit... bland. His fix? Cheese. But this isn’t just about Comté and Camembert (though trust me, you'll want to raid your fridge after every chapter). It’s about rediscovering joy, community, and purpose – and realising that sometimes, life’s richest moments come from getting your hands dirty, your feet sore, and your senses fully alive
If you’re into books about finding meaning in the everyday, or you just want to geek out over cheese, this one’s for you.
🧀 Passion, purpose, and a sprinkle of washed-rind magic – delicious from start to finish.

These Wicked Devices by Matthew Plampin:
📍Rome, 1650. Sin, secrets, and survival.
Three storylines, one blistering setting, and a web of secrets waiting to unravel. Sister Orsola and Serafina flee the ruins of Castro, suspected of heresy.
Donna Olimpia Maidalchini rules the Vatican from behind the throne, her grip on power slipping. Juan de Pareja arrives from Spain with hidden ambitions and stumbles into a conspiracy.
The alternating perspectives — Sorores, Domina, Servus — create a compelling rhythm, but it was the sisters’ story that stole my heart.
Their bond, fear, and resilience are beautifully drawn. Juan’s arc adds ambition and vulnerability, while Olimpia’s ruthlessness adds political weight, though I didn’t connect with her as much.
Matthew Plampin captures Rome in all its heat, power, and peril. This is a slow-burn historical thriller that’s dark, atmospheric, and full of danger.
