Bethany Raven is a physics genius on the brink of a breakthrough, until she wakes up to find her work missing and small details in her life subtly wrong.
What follows is a journey through alternate realities, where each version of Bethany’s life begins to drift further from the one she knows, especially when it comes to her relationship with her sister, Cesca.
What really stood out to me was how emotional this story felt beneath the science. At its core, this is a book about connection, particularly the bond between sisters, and how easily that can shift depending on the choices we make and the lives we lead. That element gave the story a lot of heart and made it feel grounded, even with the multiverse concept.
I actually enjoyed this even more than I expected to, and it is one I am still thinking about days later.
The plot itself is quite complex, but it never felt confusing. That really surprised me, especially as someone who would not usually gravitate towards science based stories. The concepts are handled in a way that feels accessible without losing their depth, which makes the whole experience much easier to follow and enjoy.
There is also a romantic element running throughout, particularly with Tyler Adams, Bethany’s rival turned unexpected ally. Their dynamic adds another layer to the story, but it never takes over. It supports the narrative rather than becoming the main focus.
It is worth noting that this is very much a softer romance. If you are expecting something more intense or explicit, this is not that. It is a warm, gentle connection that fits the tone of the story perfectly.
