The story centres around Kaleigh Creedy, the sole survivor of a brutal attack that took place five years earlier. Now living a seemingly perfect life, married to a famous footballer with a growing family, she has worked hard to move on from the trauma.

When Emma, one of the victims presumed dead, is suddenly found alive, the past comes crashing back in a way no one could have expected. Her version of events does not match Kaleigh’s, and from that moment, the tension builds rapidly.

What really works here is the constant sense of uncertainty. You are never quite sure who to trust, and that feeling carries throughout the entire book. The shifting perspectives and revelations keep the story moving at a fast pace, making it incredibly easy to get pulled into.

The mix of celebrity lifestyle and dark crime adds another layer to the story. The tabloid attention, public scrutiny, and pressure of maintaining an image all heighten the stakes, making everything feel more intense and unpredictable.

This is very much a binge worthy read. The pacing is strong, the twists keep coming, and it is one of those books where you keep telling yourself “just one more chapter” and then suddenly you are halfway through.

If you enjoy thrillers packed with secrets, shifting truths, and dramatic reveals, this is a really entertaining one to pick up.
