“You’re a big dog person, I take it.’ ‘They’re better than people in every way.”
The Christmas Tree Farm is a cosy and spicy romance set in the charming town of Dream Harbor. Kira North has always disliked Christmas, which makes it all the more ironic that she has bought a Christmas tree farm she has no idea how to run.
Bennet Ellis, visiting from California to escape his disastrous dating history, has no interest in getting involved, especially after an awkward first meeting with Kira. Yet fate keeps pushing them together, and as sparks fly, both must confront their stubbornness and their growing attraction.
This book is packed with favourite romance tropes, including grumpy and sunshine, small town charm, forced proximity and even a one bed situation. The story is full of festive touches, from tree cutting to cosy winter moments, with just enough spice to keep the romance lively.
I particularly enjoyed the way the side characters from earlier Dream Harbor books returned, adding warmth and familiarity to the story.
Although this was not my favourite in the series, I still enjoyed being back in this world. Laurie Gilmore captures the atmosphere of a small town perfectly, and the blend of humour, heart and romance made it an easy and entertaining read. I am looking forward to seeing how the next books in the series build on these characters and their community.
The Christmas Tree Farm is a fun festive romance that fans of small town love stories will enjoy, especially those who like their seasonal reads with a bit of spice.
