This week, I was thrilled to receive a special delivery of book mail—all from the incredible Head of Zeus.

It's always exciting to get my hands on new reads, and these editions are stunning.

The Time Hop Coffee Shop by Phaedra Patrick:

The Time Hop Coffee Shop is a charming, whimsical and heartwarming story about second chances, self-discovery and the allure of perfection. Greta Perks, once the face of the Maple Gold coffee commercials, finds her life unravelling.

Her career has stalled, her marriage is crumbling and her teenage daughter has grown distant. When she stumbles into a mysterious café serving magical coffee, Greta wishes for the perfect life she once pretended to have on screen.

Suddenly she wakes in Mapleville, the glossy world of those commercials, where the sun always shines and everything looks picture perfect. At first it feels like the dream she has longed for, but as Greta settles into this too-perfect life, she begins to realise that true happiness may not lie in an idealised version of the past but in embracing reality, flaws and all.

The Time Hop Coffee Shop is an entertaining and uplifting book that shows us the grass is not always greener and that life’s imperfections are what make it truly worth living.

The book is out now and available to purchase.

Golgotha by Lavie Tidhar:

Golgotha is the conclusion to Lavie Tidhar’s Maror Trilogy, a series steeped in history, myth and the shifting landscapes of the Middle East.

Two men, separated by decades, cross the same land in search of a fabled treasure that always seems out of reach.

The land itself is as much a character as the men who travel it. What begins in the quiet backwater of Ottoman Palestine transforms into the chaotic and violent final days of the British withdrawal from the Holy Land.

Along the way, the road is crowded with bandits, poets, dreamers and killers, each leaving their mark. And at the end of both quests lies Golgotha, the place of skulls, where fate cannot be avoided.

The dual timelines show how much changes and how much stays the same. No matter who claims the land, whether Ottoman or British, it remains scarred by violence and longing. It is a story of treasure hunting, but also a reflection on history, belief and inevitability.

This is not a light or easy read, but it is powerful and rewarding. Tidhar draws the trilogy to a close with ambition and intensity, leaving behind a story that lingers long after the final page.

The book is out now and available to purchase.
