This week's round-up of beautiful book mail!

I'm excited to begin sharing a roundup of the book mail I've received recently. I can't wait to delve into these books and share my thoughts through reviews!

The books in this week's round-up are:

Ten Men: A Year of Casual Sex by Kitty Ruskin:

Kitty Ruskin’s Ten Men is a raw, candid exploration of one woman's attempt to embrace her sexuality in the modern world.

Starting with the intent of carefree, no-strings encounters, her journey through casual sex becomes unexpectedly complex, often delving into darker, more painful territories.

Through witty, shocking, and sometimes heartbreaking encounters, Kitty challenges the blurred lines around consent and highlights the troubling issues of misogyny, dating apps, and the blurred boundaries of modern relationships.

This book goes beyond the surface, offering a powerful reflection on women’s vulnerability in today’s culture and the complexities of intimacy in the digital age.

Funny, emotional, and deeply reflective, Ten Men will leave you thinking long after you finish. It’s more than just a collection of stories – it’s a wake-up call to re-examine the world of modern dating and the impact it has on us all.

Thank you to Amelia at Icon Books for sending me a review copy! The book is out now and available to purchase.

The Midnight Carousal by Fiza Saeed McLynn:

The Midnight Carousel sweeps readers across time and continents, from the bustling streets of Paris in 1900 to the hopes and dreams of Chicago in 1920.

Gilbert, a grieving carousel maker, pours his broken heart into creating a masterpiece, unaware of the dark legacy he is setting in motion. Years later, Maisie Marlowe discovers the abandoned carousel, seeing it as her chance to build a new life, only to find that its glittering surface hides unsettling secrets.

This book offers an intriguing plot filled with twists, turns and a touch of the supernatural. It is a story about ambition, loss and the bittersweet nature of chasing new beginnings.

Some characters make questionable choices and there is a lingering sentimentality throughout, but that only makes the story feel more honest and relatable.

Atmospheric, emotional and quietly haunting, The Midnight Carousel is a reminder that beauty often masks sorrow and that the past never stays buried for long.

Thank you to the team at Penguin Michael Jospeh for sending me a finished copy of the book! The book is out now and available to purchase!

Everything Will Be Okay by Sean J. Gebhardt:

Everything Will Be Okay by Sean J. Gebhardt is a haunting and deeply introspective exploration of addiction, mental illness and the search for redemption.

Set against the stark reality of California’s opioid crisis, it follows two men whose lives are unravelling—Nick Wagner, a young man battling addiction and the consequences of his past, and Henry Foster, a psychiatrist teetering on the edge after his marriage falls apart.

Gebhardt does not shy away from the raw and often brutal truths of self-destruction. Nick’s downward spiral and Henry’s increasing disillusionment paint a devastating portrait of suffering, craving and the fragile nature of hope.

The book is literary fiction at its most unflinching, unpicking the human psyche with striking clarity. Through its philosophical undertones and visceral storytelling, it dares the reader to confront the darkest corners of despair and addiction, yet it never loses sight of the possibility of redemption.

Beautifully written and emotionally searing, Everything Will Be Okay is not just a book about addiction—it is a profound meditation on meaning, survival and how we seek escape.

Thank you to Merle, Fergus and the team at Be Read for sending me a finished copy of the book! The book is out now and available to purchase.
