"Yes Chef".
The Strawberry Patch Pancake House is a sweet and heartwarming small town romance that completely stole my heart.
Archer, a renowned chef and newly single dad, never expected to leave behind his career and end up running a pancake restaurant in Dream Harbor. But when his young daughter Olive comes into his life, he realises this little town may be exactly what they both need.
Enter Iris, a free spirit who has never been able to stick with one job for more than a few months. Reluctantly agreeing to be Olive’s nanny, she soon finds herself swept into the rhythms of Archer’s life in ways she never imagined.
I loved this book and read it within two days! Archer is a wonderful character, a man trying his best to raise a child he never knew he had while adjusting to small town life. Watching his growth throughout the story was beautiful. Iris, on the other hand, felt incredibly relatable with her messy uncertainty about motherhood and her reluctance to picture what her future might look like. Their connection is sweet and full of genuine emotion.
Tropes include:
🍓Single Dad
🍓Forced Proximity
🍓Slow Burn
🍓Found Family
Laurie Gilmore has created such a cosy, dreamy setting in Dream Harbor that I honestly want to pack up and move there myself.
The romance is full of charm, the community feel is uplifting, and the character development is handled with real care. The Strawberry Patch Pancake House is without question my favourite in the Dream Harbor series so far. It is perfect for fans of small town romances that leave you smiling long after you turn the final page. I cannot wait to return to this world in the next books.
