By Sue Lynn Tan.
Tales of the Celestial Kingdom by Sue Lynn Tan is a beautifully crafted companion to the Celestial Kingdom duology, offering readers a deeper glimpse into the world of Daughter of the Moon Goddess and Heart of the Sun Warrior.
This collection of nine stories, including a moving epilogue, is told through the eyes of familiar and beloved characters such as Chang’e, Liwei, Wenzhi, and Shuxiao.
Rich in magic, mythology, and emotion, the stories add new layers of understanding to the main storyline. Whether exploring untold moments or revealing fresh perspectives, each tale brings something valuable to the overall experience.
Kelly Chong’s illustrations throughout the book are absolutely stunning, enhancing the atmosphere of each story. The book cover in particular is one of the most breathtaking designs I’ve ever seen — it perfectly captures the spirit of the Celestial Kingdom and immediately drew me in.
As someone who was completely swept away by the original books, I found this collection both satisfying and heartwarming. It felt like returning to old friends and discovering sides of them I hadn’t seen before.
While it may not carry the same intensity as the full-length books, it offers a lovely, thoughtful expansion of a world I didn’t want to leave. A must-read for fans of the series.
Thank you to Rachel at Rachel Quin Marketing and the team at Harper Collins UK for running this book tour and including me. The book is out now and available to purchase.
