Coffin Moon ⚰🧡

By Keith Rosson.

Set in the grim underbelly of 1970s Portland, Coffin Moon delivers a haunting blend of grief, grit, and gore.

When Vietnam vet Duane Minor’s life is shattered by a vampire’s brutal revenge, he and his teenage niece Julia are propelled into a relentless hunt for justice or vengeance.

What follows is a raw, unflinching journey that slices deep into the complexities of trauma, loss, and the desperate need to make things right.

This isn’t your average vampire book. Rosson doesn’t reinvent the rules of the genre, but he bends them into something fresh and visceral. The horror is real and rooted in grief, and the emotional weight of the characters makes the story hit harder than fangs ever could.

Duane is a broken man trying to stay sober, failing at marriage and fatherhood, while Julia simmers with the kind of rage only true loss can create. Their makeshift bond is as sharp-edged as the stakes they’ll eventually wield.

The strength of Coffin Moon lies in its characters. flawed, vulnerable, and painfully human. Even its monsters are layered and magnetic.

Rosson’s writing is taut and stylish, with a noir pulse that beats beneath every scene. The atmosphere is thick with sleet, neon, and dread. But in between the violence and vampires, there’s something tender and tragically beautiful about this story, about how grief changes us and what we’re willing to become for the people we love.

🩸 Stylish, bloody, and deeply moving, Coffin Moon is vampire noir at its finest. Gory, yes. Gritty, absolutely. But also full of heart.

🖤 A must-read for fans of horror with soul.
