TINA - The Tina Turner Musical 🎤

This week, I was lucky enough to be invited to attend the Press Night for TINA - The Tina Turner Musical at Leeds Grand Theatre. A special thank you to Kelly for this wonderful invitation.

There are some theatre shows that entertain you for an evening. Then there are the ones that completely electrify the room. TINA: The Tina Turner Musical firmly falls into the second category.

Currently playing at Leeds Grand Theatre, the final stop of it's first major UK and Ireland tour, this powerful musical tells the extraordinary life story of one of the most iconic performers in music history. From humble beginnings in Tennessee to becoming the global Queen of Rock and Roll, Tina Turner’s journey is nothing short of remarkable.

The show follows Tina from her early years in Tennessee through her complicated and often painful relationship with Ike Turner, before charting her eventual rise as one of the most celebrated artists in the world.

Of course, a show about Tina Turner would not be complete without the music.

The musical is packed with legendary songs including River Deep, Mountain High, and What’s Love Got to Do With It? transforming the theatre into a full scale concert experience by the final act.

Elle Ma-Kinga N'Zuzi portraying Tina has the enormous challenge of stepping into the shoes of one of the most recognisable performers in music history. Yet the performance manages to capture both the voice and the spirit of Tina Turner.

What truly makes TINA unforgettable is the atmosphere it creates inside the theatre. It is loud, emotional, uplifting and completely exhilarating!
