The Divine Dancers Series by Kritika H. Rao has just arrived, and this might be one of the most visually stunning and exciting pieces of book mail I have received in a while.
From the moment I opened the parcel, I could tell this was going to be something special. Bright, bold, and completely eye catching, it instantly stood out on my shelves.
The series begins with The Legend of Meneka, which introduces a world of celestial dancers known as apsaras, beings celebrated for their beauty but also used as powerful tools within a complex political and divine system. At the centre is Meneka, a character torn between duty and her own desire for freedom, sent on a mission that could change everything.
The story blends romance and mythology, drawing on Hindu lore to create what promises to be a rich and immersive reading experience. The premise alone feels layered with themes of identity, power, and choice, which I am really looking forward to exploring.
The second book, The Rise of the Celestials, appears to raise the stakes even further, bringing Meneka back into the Immortal Realm and into conflict with forces far greater than before. With hints of war, shifting loyalties, and deeper self discovery, it sounds like a powerful continuation of her story.
I have not started this series yet, but based on the concept, the themes, and how beautifully it has been presented, I am incredibly excited to dive in.
If you enjoy mythological retellings and romantic fantasy, this already feels like one to watch.
Thank you to the team at Harper Voyager for sending out such beautiful book mail! Both books are out now and available to purchase!
