âRight after something tragic happens, you feel like youâve fallen off a cliff. But after the tragedy starts to sink in, you realise you didnât fall off a cliff. Youâre on an eternal roller coaster that just reached the bottom. Now itâs gonna be up and down and upside down for a long, long time. Maybe even forever.â
This book is about all the feelings. First, I read verity, and now it was Regretting You. And wow! I didnât want to be sucked in by the whole âCo-Hoâ hype, but this is my second book of hers, and Iâve been pleasantly surprised and still want to read more.
Regretting You is an emotionally charged romance/coming of age that explores the complexities of family dynamics and the power of love and forgiveness. The story revolves around Morgan Grant and her teenage daughter, Clara. After a tragic accident takes the life of Morgan's husband and Clara's father, their lives are forever changed - Iâll keep it spoiler-free!
We touch on difficult subjects such as grief and heartbreak, but we see both sides of the coin due to the multi-person viewpoint throughout the chapters. The dual perspectives allow us to empathise with each character's struggles and witness their growth throughout the novel.
This book is a complete roller-coaster that sucks you in from start to finish. This is perfect as a summer read or one to take when around the pool or at the beach!
