This week, I was thrilled to receive a special delivery of book mail—all from the incredible Icon Books.
It's always exciting to get my hands on new reads, and these editions are stunning.
Doctored by Charles Piller:
A powerful work of investigative journalism, Doctored delves into one of the most significant scientific scandals of our time.
Charles Piller follows whistleblower Matthew Schrag, whose research uncovered falsified data at the heart of Alzheimer’s studies, challenging the dominant theory that has shaped decades of research and billions in funding.
With millions affected by the disease and families desperate for progress, Doctored exposes how corporate interests, government complicity and scientific misconduct have steered us away from the truth.
I loved reading Dopesick, so I was thrilled to receive a copy of this one. The book is out now and available to purchase.

The Vagina Business by Marina Gerner:
This book immediately caught my attention because it tackles something that has frustrated me for years – how often women’s pain is brushed aside as “just part of being a woman.”
From periods and childbirth to menopause, we’re told to cope rather than expect real solutions. The Vagina Business by Marina Gerner challenges that tired narrative and I couldn’t wait to read it.
The author dives deep into the innovators and entrepreneurs who are fighting to make women’s health a priority, not an afterthought. Through 100 interviews across 15 countries, she uncovers inspiring stories of people developing products that genuinely make a difference – from life-saving bras and non-hormonal contraception to fresh approaches to fertility and menopause.
What I loved most is how empowering this book feels. It’s bold, unapologetic and exactly the kind of conversation we need to be having. Women deserve better healthcare, more innovation and fewer taboos.
The Vagina Business doesn’t just say that – it proves it. The book is out now and available to purchase.

The Wireless Operator by David Tuch:
This story sounded like something straight out of a thriller, except every word of it is true.
David Tuch brings to life the extraordinary story of Harold Derber, a British Merchant Navy veteran who went from a working-class boy in Manchester to one of the most influential figures in the history of the global drug trade.
Drawing on newly declassified files, first-hand accounts and an unpublished memoir, Tuch pieces together the rise and fall of a man who changed the criminal world forever. Derber’s invention of the ‘drug mothership’ revolutionised smuggling, making him the chief supplier of marijuana to post-war America.
From the chaos of World War II to the Cuban Revolution and the Cold War’s shadowy underworld, this book reads like a spy film come to life.
What I loved most is how The Wireless Operator blurs the line between history and suspense. It’s a gripping, cinematic and deeply researched account of a man who lived on the edge of power, secrecy and danger.
The book is out now and available to purchase.
